Is there such a thing as too much information? My feeling is yes, but on the other hand, it sure helps to find common ground. At the beginning of every school year, there are always lots of “Getting to Know You” surveys. Sometimes these exercises are called Discovery Interviews, or One Page Profiles. I actually love the idea. In my opinion, the more we know about each other the easier it is to relate. However, when you type as slow as I do, this task can turn into a painful process of watching everyone else get acquainted while I quietly panic. Why? Well, what takes other kids a few seconds to quickly jot down or talk about out loud could take me hours to type out. So, I have compiled some of the most common survey questions into this page. Hopefully, this helps to explain a lot about me so that I can relax and just type, “Please see my website!” 🙂

….It would also be great if there was a place to see this information about all my classmates. Maybe I’ll make that suggestion.

cooking & eating

I must say I have come such a long way in my openness to explore more foods. So far, in fact, that I am thinking about writing a book about the monumental change in my experience with food. My desire to progress in this areas stemmed from, first, my ability to communicate unique experiences with tasting foods, trigger memories related to foods, and GI sensitivities to certain foods when I was younger. My world began to open up with my motivation to travel and learn more about other cultures. The deal my mom made was that I needed to eat the foods indigenous to countries I wanted to visit. I accepted the challenge, really embracing the idea of what it would mean for my social life to become and actual “foodie.”
